L'illustratrice botanique et ornithologique, célèbre depuis Wild Flowers of the Year (1852), est très lue par la reine Victoria mais critiquée dans les milieux scientifiques, ce qui n'empêchera pas ses planches de faire référence cent ans plus tard.

This notebook contains the drawings of ferns and grasses by Anne Pratt (1806-1893), for a six-volume album covering more than 1,500 species published between 1855 and 1873, entitled The Flowering Plants, Grasses, Sedges, and Ferns of Great Britain and their Allies the Club Mosses, Pepperworts and Horsetails. The botanical and ornithological illustrator, who became well-known with the publication of Wild Flowers of the Year (1852), was avidly read by Queen Victoria but criticized in scientific circles, which was not to prevent her plates from becoming benchmarks a hundredyears later.
